Probability – Topic for Quantitative Aptitude Test

Probability is a topic asked in Quantitative Aptitude Tests. It revolves around finding the probability of an event occurring.

How to find Probabilty?

The fundamental formula of Probability is:

Probability = (Number of favourable outcomes) / (Total Number of outcomes possible)

For example, if you want to find the probability of getting ‘2’ on a dice of 6, the number of favourable outcomes is 1, while the total possible outcomes is 6. So, the probability is 1/6.

Another example is if you want to find the probability of getting an even number on rolling a dice of 6, the number of favourable outcomes is 3 as there are 3 even numbers on a dice – 2, 4 & 6. The total possible outcomes is again 6. So, the probability is 3/6 = 1/2.
