All About JEE Mains
Eligibility for JEE Main 2019, like every year, depends on 3 factors : Age criteria, Year of appearing for 12th standard exam or equivalent and number of attempts made for JEE.
*Students from General category born on or after 1st October 1994 are eligible. Students from SC, ST and PwD category born on or after 1st October 1989 are eligible.

The procedure to register is:
1. JEE Main & Advanced application forms are to be filled online on their official website : http://jeemain.nic.in
2. Form fees should be paid according to the norms of JEE.

For JEE Mains, correction period – within around two weeks in January 2017.
JEE Mains will have three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
30 questions will be asked in each section. Overall, 90 questions will be asked in the Paper 1 exam; Total = 360 marks, with each section being of 120 marks.
- Physics : 30 Questions (120 marks)
- Chemistry : 30 Questions (120 marks)
- Maths : 30 Questions (120 marks)
Marking Scheme : +4 for every correct answer and -1 for every incorrect answer.
The exam will have objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Each question will be of 4 marks.
One mark will be deducted from the total score for each incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for un-attempted questions.
JEE Main Exam has two papers. Paper I & Paper II.
Paper Pattern for Paper I –
Computer Based Exam (Online) & Pen & Paper Based Exam (Offline) Objective type question with multiple choices
Each question carries 4 marks & one negative mark is deducted for each wrong attempt
Paper comprises of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics questions with equal weightage to all 3 subjects.
Time duration: 3 hours
Paper pattern for Paper II
Paper II is being conducted for admissions into Architecture/Planning Courses.
The entire paper is divided into three parts: Part I – Mathematics, Part II – Aptitude Test, Part III – Drawing Test
The minimum cut-off marks for qualifying for JEE Advanced for the year 2016 is given below :
